Stephanie, originally a northerner was born in Bolton. After years of travelling the world, waking up in a new city each day, with 10 suitcases of fashion collections in tow, she somehow became a little disenchanted with the fashion world and ended up working at a hedge fund. She learnt a million and one things: about finance, people, and that fashion was her one true love. Stephanie started The Style Memo in 2014 out of a desire to bring some much needed creativity back into her life.
Who or what last made you laugh out loud
My boyfriend and I both laugh constantly about the silliest things – all too embarrassing to tell.
Who or what inspires you
My friends - a super talented bunch of girls who bring creativity to so many different fields, amazing designers like the gorgeous Amanda Wakeley, who gave me my very first job in the fashion industry, and who completely embodies her brand, and I couldn’t forget my tech-savvy Grandma, who is one of my biggest supporters and loves to keep up to date with my travels on Instagram!
Your words to live by
Everything will be alright in the end. If it’s not alright, it’s not the end.
What cause or causes do you feel passionate about
Nutritional education for children
Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given
Work hard, be nice and everyone will love you. Written on my school shirt by a friend on the last day of term aged 11. It sounds so simple but sometimes those are the best pieces of advice.
Your London in an hour
Boxing in the ring at BXR in Marylebone, a quick shower in their gorgeous changing rooms, before jumping in a black cab and heading to The Arts Club for meetings and the best sushi in town at their Japanese restaurant Kyubi.
Your favourite London view
The view from the 10th floor spa lounge at the Four Seasons is pretty special. It’s a glass box with a terrace on top of the hotel that we turned into a private dining room for a recent birthday of mine and it has the most amazing view of London from an angle you rarely see.
Are you working on anything at present
I’m working on lots of exciting projects at the moment. I’m travelling constantly, shooting digital campaigns for some amazing fashion, travel and beauty brands. I’m also a social media consultant for a number of start up brands and the COO of a fin-tech company, alongside growing my blog, The Style Memo.
Describe your style
My style is super classic. Skinny jeans or leathers, a cashmere sweater and plimsolls for the day, an LBD and a perfectly tailored boyfriend jacket for the evening.
Whose style do you most admire, past or present
Effortlessly chic girls like Natasha Poly and the ever glamorous Erica Pelosini
Favourite piece from the ENLIST collection
I’m obsessed with the sunglasses – Charade 1 and Undercover 3 are all you ever need!
