RESPONSIBILITY
Fashion that places value on its customers, workers and the environment.
In creating ENLIST and the clothes we produce, we have incorporated responsible practices throughout our manufacturing and supply chain resulting in maximum impact on your wardrobe, but with minimum impact on the world we live in.
We believe it is time for companies to be responsible not only to the workers and mills within which they work, but also in the harvesting of the materials and yarns they use. Sustainability, ethical sourcing and human rights are a given in business today and should be the foundation of the process in creating collections.
Pro-Social Practices
Our factories are small and predominantly family run, which allows for the workers to be able to go home to their families and children at the end of the day, giving them a quality of life not necessarily common place in the industry today. Everyone who is involved in the ENLIST process from harvesting the yarns to manufacturing our products paid a fair living wage and child labour is not tolerated under any circumstances.
Sustainable Materials
Animal welfare is of utmost importance - our alpaca , cashmere and wool is clipped directly from the animal; we do not use any down but a new technology that mimics down and is man-made which is light weight, does not hurt any animal and is warm to wear. Our yarns are sourced from around the globe from small mills helping to support small industry and generate business and growth in remote regions.
This is most noticeable with bamboo textile fibre, one of the most sustainable eco-fabrics to be used in our collections. Botanically categorised as a grass and not a tree, bamboo just might be the world’s most sustainable resource. It is the fastest growing grass and can grow a foot a day and reaches maturity quickly. It does not require replanting after harvesting because its vast root network continually sprouts new shoots pulling in sunlight and greenhouse gases and converting them to new green growth.
