Sarah Clark is a Fashion Editor and and Stylist. After studying fashion journalism at the London College of Fashion, Sarah started her fashion career as a Fashion Assistant at British Marie Claire, where she stayed for over seven years, working her way up to Fashion Editor. She then moved to British Glamour, then later started her freelance career as Contributing Senior Fashion Editor at Red magazine. Sarah also works as a freelance stylist and art director for a number of established commercial brands. Sarah styled the launch of AW16 and SS17 collections for ENLIST.

Who or what last made you laugh out loud
Both my son, Marlow and my daughter, Tabitha, just this morning, They make me laugh all the time! They have recently learned how much they can make people laugh, and that in itself is also pretty funny!

Who or what inspires you
Visually? Anything and everything. It could be a painting or a drawing, a building, a book, always traveling; a location I might have been  to for a shoot (I recently shot at the most incredible house in LA). Even something as simple as tree or a flower, or the way the sun sets on a particular day. I also find people really inspiring. I love talking and listening to people and their take on the world - different viewpoints are always thought provoking and inspiring.

Your words to live by
Treat others as you wish to be treated. And manners cost nothing.

What cause or causes do you feel passionate about
No one specific cause as such, but I feel very passionate about knowledge and education in general. There is a lot of ignorance in the world and I think too many people are too closed off (consciously or not) from actually knowing what is happening in the world around them. Encouraging children from an early age to be curious, informed and to ask questions and question things is so important I think. A thirst for knowledge is something I am very passionate about. Questioning and challenging things is the only way that change can happen. But make sure you’re informed first and foremost.

Always be true to yourself, and follow your instincts. Always. 

Your London in an hour
If I had just one hour in London? Hmm, if the weather was good I might go and sit in St James’ Park (preferably with a nice picnic) and watch the world go by. If the weather was bad, I would wander around The National Gallery. If I was hungry and didn’t fancy either of those options on that particular day, I’d go to J.Sheekey and sit at the bar and eat their delicious fish pie with a glass of wine.

Your favourite London view
The famous ‘Turner’ view of the river from Richmond Hill. I think that just counts as London? Or failing that, any view from Waterloo bridge is pretty great.

Are you working on anything at present

I am having some much needed downtime between two very busy periods of travelling for work. I am always working on my blog, Little Spree, but I am able to dedicate more time to it at the moment, which I’m really enjoying.

Describe your style

I would describe my style as a relaxed combination of tomboy and pretty. And probably a little scruffy. I love a frill and a ruffle, but always balanced with a khaki cargo pant or an oversized army jacket.

Whose style do you most admire, past or present
Present would probably be Sofia Coppola. She’s always true to herself, and her style is totally effortless. I once had to style her, which just seemed so weird and I was quite nervous!! She couldn’t have been nicer. Past? Hmm, probably Jane Birkin, as in during the Sixties when she was with Serge Gainsberg. Obviously she is still very much alive!

My favourite piece has to be the Cleo Coat - I styled it as a dress with heels perfect for a night out.
