Jemma Powell is a British born actress who lives in Oxfordshire with her singer songwriter husband Jack Savoretti and her 2 children and 3 dogs! Her film and television credits include Alice in Wonderland, Closed Circuit, An Adventure in Time and Space, Foyles War, The Seasoning House and Angel. She is currently recording a series of radio plays and will be filming a British comedy feature A Family Affair, early next year.

Jemma is pictured at home in Oxfordshire with Maggie her dog, she wears Stretch Crepe Wide Leg Trouser & shirt her own.

Who or what last made you laugh out loud
My son....he always tells me when he farts and roars with laughter.

Who or what inspires you
My husband....I am always in awe of his creativity, my kids because they teach me so much about myself..and the countryside with all its beauty.

Your words to live by
Mystery is not always about travelling to new places, it is about looking with new eyes. 

What cause or causes do you feel passionate about
Art in education.... I run a little art club with a friend in our local village for children. I think its so important for children to have an artistic outlet. 

Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given
Happiness is a choice..everything else is a matter of perspective. 

Your London in an hour
Soho for coffee...Royal Acadamy or tate britain to see whatever is on. A stroll down Portobello and a ride in a black cab back to marylebone to get my train. I still feel like a kid when I take a black cab! 

Your favourite London view
The flat where I used to live with my now husband on Portobello rd. He had 5 big sash windows and you could see both ways down Portobello. You never felt lonely in that flat!    always so much to see and take in and so many friends shouting up to say hello! even after we left people would still call up whatever time of day and night!

Are you working on anything at present
I’m recording 4 radio plays at the moment with the wonderful David Bradley...radio is amazing because you don’t have to learn your lines! it’s all very relaxed and we drink lots of tea and eat lots of cake!...then I am doing an british indie comedy early next year.

Describe your style 
Relaxed...verging on scruffy. I quite like the idea of looking “peasant chic”....I love linen and apron dresses! lots of pockets to carry things in...
