Julie Henderson is a model from Texas, currently splitting her time between New York and London where she lives with her fiancé Matteo, an artist, and their lurcher Laska.  As well as modelling regularly for the cult magazine Sports Illustrated, Julie has been the face of N Peal, Benetton and Pure.  She is also brand ambassador for US based organic cosmetic company Au Naturale.

Who or what last made you laugh out loud
Julie: The Jacobs Cracker Crisp Advert. Its the silliest thing but I just love it, every time!
Matteo: Donald Trump and his inspirational wife’s ‘Speech’…….crackers!

Who or what inspires you
Julie: My grandmother, she was the most elegant and most accepting of others. She was never one to ‘try and change’ someone she accepted them for who they were. She was also so positive and constantly had a smile on her face. She has inspired me to always enjoy life and everyone in it.
Matteo: People and things that make you look twice.

Your words to live by
Julie: Don't feel bad for the way you feel.
Matteo: No rules.

What cause or causes do you feel passionate about
Julie/Matteo: A  dear friend set up the charity Sugarplum Children to help support children with type 1 diabetes after her daughter was diagnosed with type 1 at the age of 2. Watching first-hand the daily struggle of not only the daughter but of the immediate family is incredibly eye opening - my heart breaks seeing her as a toddler get injected by numerous needles a day and her parents hoping her blood sugar level is where it needs to be.

Julie: Do things in your life you would be proud of.
Matteo: Wise men don’t take advice; fools won’t take it.

Your London in an hour
Julie: A walk down Bond St. with one of my closest friends from my early days modelling in New York, Katie – it’s not about the buying, it’s all about the browsing.
Matteo: Anywhere in West London with good friends and my dog Alaska.

Your favourite London view
Julie: At 15,000 feet. I love flying into London and seeing the entire city. It gives me such a warm feeling when arriving.
Matteo: Richmond Park on a frosty winter’s day.

Are you working on anything at present
Julie: Other than modelling I am a Brand Ambassador and Creative Advisor for a US based organic cosmetic company called Au Naturale Cosmetics. It’s a young company and rapidly growing. Being a part of the growth and watching positive things happen has been such an inspiring experience.
Matteo: Working on my new exhibition exploring the world of Shibari.

Describe your style
Julie: I love classic but comfortable pieces. I don’t ever go crazy with trends. I will sometimes mix a trend with classics.
Matteo: Modern classics with an edge. And a lot of trainers.

Whose style do you most admire, past or present
Julie: Cate Blanchett. She is always elegant but never boring.
Matteo: American All Stars – Paul Newman, James Dean, Steve McQueen.

Favourite piece from the ENLIST collection?
Julie: The Emily Sweater in Graphite paired with the Hepburn Trouser.
Matteo: Roll Neck Sweater in Rust.
