Posted on 08 May 2017
Amy is an experienced fashion, features and lifestyle journalist who currently writes the widely-read Front Row column for YOU magazine as well as contributing for a variety of publications from ES Magazine to Hello Fashion Monthly. She has recently been nominated for a prestigious British Press Award, and, not one to sit about on the sofa, is about to launch her own little side-project, a range of shoes for men and women.
YouTube clips of the Daily Show with Trevor Noah - to me he has the best take on everything Trump.
Any woman who’s started a business from scratch. I’ve met and interviewed so many and I always walk away wanting to do the same.
You’re far more likely to regret the things you didn’t do, than the things you did.
What cause or causes do you feel passionate about
Loneliness in the elderly. I visit a wonderful 96-year-old lady each week for a chat and a walk around the block. I’d like to start a scheme where freelancers are matched with isolated elderly people who’d love for someone to visit them from time-to-time.
Judge people by their actions not their words.
You can’t get very far in London in an hour! I waste hours just on bus journeys! But a great morning would start with green tea and scrambled eggs at Golborne Deli, a mooch around the market, and a walk via the shops on Ledbury Road to Hyde Park…
Your favourite London view
Tower Bridge. I lived in New York for a bit and when I moved back I lived in a flat right by the bridge, it’s cheesy but that view always feels like home.
Are you working on anything at present
Alongside freelance writing I’m launching a range of unisex espadrilles called Drilles. It’s been a real challenge to get it off the ground, but nothing ventured…
Blazers, shirts, jeans and trainers. I err on the side of masculine – unless I’m on holiday in Italy you’re unlikely to find me in a floral tea dress.
Whose style do you most admire, past or present
Red carpet-wise Cate Blanchett can do no wrong.
Favourite piece from the ENLIST collection
The duster coats, perfect over trousers and t-shirts for an easy peasy but pulled-together look, especially at this in between time of year.
